Welcome
Whether you're here searching for answers for yourself or someone you love, I hope this feels like a place where you can pause, take a breath, and know you’re not alone.
When top oncologists at UCLA told me I had only months to live, the feeling was almost indescribable.
Instant fear. Silence. A kind of shock that settles into your bones.
It was 2010.
Stage 4 breast cancer with metastasis to my bones and lungs. I had already endured surgery in 2006 and developed a life-threatening staph infection that made chemotherapy too dangerous. I tried radiation later, but it failed—and once again, I faced another staph infection. At that point, I was told there was nothing more that could be done.
But I didn’t believe that. I knew in my heart it wasn’t over.
In 2011, I found a hospital offering advanced alternative treatments—and it saved my life. Dr. Edgar Payan treated me with such precision and care, and against all odds, I survived. I’ve never had a recurrence since then.
If I were diagnosed again, I would go back there without hesitation. That is my personal truth. It may sound biased, but it’s because I trust the decisions I made—decisions that gave me back my life.
Still, I want to say this clearly:
I never tell others what they should do. Cancer is deeply personal, and the path each person chooses must be respected. Many of my family members have faced cancer. They all made different choices for themselves, and every one of their decisions deserves honor and dignity.
So if you're here today—hurting, searching, unsure—I understand. And while I don't have all the answers, I can offer my story.
Take your time here. Stay a while. You’re not alone.
