Survivor Stage 4 Breast Cancer Without Chemotherapy
If you’ve just received a cancer diagnosis—or someone you love has—you’re probably scared, overwhelmed, and looking for answers. I’ve been there. In 2010, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had spread to my bones and lungs. I had already undergone surgery in 2006, but a severe staph infection made chemotherapy too dangerous. I tried radiation later, but it failed—and I faced another infection. At that point, doctors at UCLA told me I had just months to live. There was nothing more they could offer.
But I wasn’t ready to accept that. In 2011, I found a hospital offering advanced, non-toxic alternative treatments. Dr. Edgar Payán’s Alternative Cancer Treatment Program saved my life. Since then, I’ve had no recurrence. If I were diagnosed again today, I would return to that hospital without hesitation. That choice gave me back my life, and I trust it completely.
I’m not here to give medical advice or tell anyone what they should do. Cancer is personal. Every person deserves to make the decision that feels right for them. My own family has faced cancer many times—we’ve all made different choices, and I respect every one of them. I’m just here to share my story, in case it helps someone else feel a little less alone.
Take your time here. You’re not alone.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Before I faced cancer, my life was already shaped by years of physical and emotional trauma. I share openly about surviving deep wounds, leaning on my faith when I felt alone, and walking through seasons of shame and a loss of identity—until God gave me a scripture to rely on in Ephesians 6:10–18 about putting on the full armor of God, which led to me choosing my new name—Knight. For my own protection, this change of identity was necessary for my safety. That season became the foundation for the work I do today. I’d love to personally invite you to read this first chapter of my story — the years before cancer — when God met me in the middle of pain, gave me a new identity, and began a healing that reached far beyond my health. My prayer is that it reminds you, wherever you are, that you are not forgotten and your story is not over.
