She Designed A Life She Loved
She Designed A Life She Loved.
My dad was an artist and taught me art therapy the first time I had cancer in 2006. He was battling cancer, too, and was such an inspiration to me. He’s in heaven now, but his words still inspire me.
I was blessed to think of recording many of our conversations in his final year before stepping into heaven that I now listen to whenever I miss him!
My dad was a teacher, so he always included a lesson somewhere in our conversations because that was his gift.
I always left his house feeling more faith, inspired, and empowered.
Today I took some loving advice from my husband, and I also remembered the advice he gave me many years ago. Those we love are ever-present if we valued them and their messages like I certainly did with my dad. He told me when he died, he was going to be my guardian angel, and I felt him so strong today.
Between him and my husband all day, I felt pillars of strength surrounding me.
In 2006 when I was sick and confined to my bed, I could not walk after a bilateral mastectomy and a bilateral knee replacement; he knew exactly what to do for me.
He began to send me some of his art supplies regularly, and The first package arrived with an art therapy book very he used for his class. It had a few notes in it from his days teaching which meant even more to me.
I still have that book today and many of the art supplies. Every time I held a colored pencil or a sketchpad, I kept thinking to myself, dad held these pencils and created with them. His energy, his soul, and his heart we’re all over these art supplies. I felt it and still do.
All of this meant so much to mebecause when I was little, we were taught not to touch his art supplies stay out of his art room; it was a very special place in our home. So to hold the art pencils paint paper canvas in my hands that belong to my father was indeed a magnificent gift. And most of all, he taught me how healing art could be.
I bought this sign in a cute farm store, and it just felt like it was supposed to be on my wall. It was transformational. If you read it enough times, you will create whatever words you surround yourself with. The books I have the messages all help me by inspiring me, empowering me, and lifting me during the day. I have a few more favorite ones.
Watch what happens when you start to Surround yourself with messages of love and inspiration in each room! Words have the power to lift you and remind you to have self-compassion. In other words, love yourself the way the Lord does.
You can design a sign like this with canvas and acrylic paint and even add some gems and glitter! I think this message in my home for so many years has been a constant reminder for me. Design a life you love-
love your life and be “Be Ohhhhh So Very Happy.”
